The Peyriac terroir is located about forty kilometers from Narbonne, in the Aude department. Located between the Montagne Noire and the Alaric, it is at the heart of the Minervois wine estate, famous for its AOC appellation. It is a quality vineyard that produces blends through an old tradition. The river that crosses the town is the Argent-double. The climate in the area is Mediterranean, with dry heat and a strong wind.
The 23 communes of the appellation border the departments of Hérault and Aude. The soils are calcareous and marly oligocene from the Quaternary age, giving the grape varieties complex and very structured aromas. The grape varieties are noble and heirs to a thousand-year-old tradition. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Merlot are blended for the reds, and Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, Muscat and Chardonnay for the whites. The wines represent a real treasure of wine culture, and vary from one domain to another.
